The Talon Economy System is a new shared reward system for Blind Adrenaline. This feature is currently in beta testing, and rewards, prices, actions, and earning methods may change as we continue building and improving the system.
The economy system itself is called Talon, but the base unit you currently earn and spend is called Scratch. Over time, Scratch builds into larger units.
As you play games on BA, you can earn Scratch rewards for participating and winning. Scratch can then be spent on optional fun extras at the tables.
This system is completely optional. If you are not interested in it, you can ignore it entirely and continue playing normally. It does not affect gameplay, cards, scoring, or fairness in any way.
Scratch is the base unit of the Talon Economy System.
10 Scratch equals 1 Spur.
100 Scratch equals 1 Talon.
100 Talons equals 1 Crown.
So if it helps, you can think of Scratch as pennies, while Talons are more like dollars. Right now most rewards and actions use Scratch, but later on some larger rewards and features may require saving up Talons.
Right now, players can earn Scratch by playing qualifying games, check their Talon Chest balance during play, and spend Scratch on optional table actions and sounds.
Currently, Scratch rewards are available in Spades and Euchre only, but the long-term plan is for the system to expand across all BA games.
At the moment, qualifying Spades games reward players like this:
Winning players currently receive five Scratch.
Players who finish the game without winning currently receive two Scratch.
These values are part of beta testing and may change over time as we tune the system.
Even if you do not win, you are still building up your Talon balance simply by playing.
You can view your balance on your profile page under the Talon Chest section.
During a game, you can quickly hear your current balance by pressing Shift plus Period.
Just try it once and you will immediately hear how it works.
During a game, press Period to open the Talon Actions menu.
Arrow up and down through the available actions, then press Enter on the one you want.
Actions currently cost Scratch, and some actions may have short cooldowns.
Right now these are mostly simple fun table effects and sounds that other players at the table can hear. More actions and extras will be added over time.
Until now, most reward systems on BA have revolved around Hold'em chips. The Talon Economy System gives us a way to create rewards and extras that work across the entire site instead of being tied to a single game.
This is just the beginning of the Talon Economy System.
Over time, we plan to expand Scratch rewards to more games and activities across BA. We also plan to add more actions, rewards, bonuses, collectibles, and other fun extras tied into the system.
Eventually, bonuses and promotions across the site may also be rewarded in the form of Talons and Scratch, so that no matter what games you enjoy playing, you can continue building your balance.
This is still an early beta version, and we are intentionally starting small so we can improve things gradually based on testing and feedback.
